Priory Court Gardening Club started in September 2011 after receiving a Community Chest Grant from Circle 33 Housing Trust. We are a member of Capital Growth  who are in partnership with Project Dirt. We started with 10 members, who meet every Wednesday, (meeting times are at the foot of this page). Most of the members are over 55yrs old and are interested in not just gardening or growing vegetables but do it for the exercise, getting out of the house into the fresh air and to obtain a healthier lifestyle. Gardening has actually been found to lower blood pressure, relieve stress, and provide the body with adequate physical workouts. Gardening connects you with others as well as with nature. It can be enjoyed and practiced by everyone in the family, regardless of their age. If you are interested in gardening, please come along to Priory Court Community Centre and see how we are converting an area that has been completely covered in paving slabs into a sustainable vegetable growing site. We will be very happy to show you around. Our aim is to try and encourage people of all age groups the benefits of growing their own food and how they can best use the space that they have. In the future we will be illustrating to the Local Community on open days how to make such things as soups, jams, chutney’s etc. with the produce that we have grown.

Priory Court Gardening Club is open to all individuals regardless of gender, marital status, race, religion, colour, age, disability or sexual orientation.

We meet every Wednesday
