During this half term we held a community gardening day in partnership with Osbourne. The day was a great success and it was great to see families of the community come along and get stuck in. Thanks to all those who participated and thanks to Osbourne for making it happen. We now have a lovely new planter which everybody helped to build, and plenty of new veg growing!

Don’t forget to check out the pictures in our photo gallery. You’ll find them in the community events tab.

Internet Safety for you and your Child course

Five of the students who took part in the course hold their certificates alongside tutor Rosemary Charles

Chatting to friends on Facebook or Twitter is likely to be second nature today to most young people. However, for many parents, knowing what their children are doing and who they are speaking to on social media sites can still be a major worry.

In partnership with Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service, Circle Housing Circle 33 recently ran a free 5-week course to teach local residents with families everyday skills and knowledge for staying safe online.

The course entitled “Internet Safety for you and your Child” taught parents about many aspects of the online world including social media safety, password protection and online accounts, shopping securely, email scams and anti-virus protection for your PC.

The course received 100% positive feedback from the participants with all stating they felt more confident as a result of the course and that they would recommend it to others.

If you are interested in registering for the next time this course runs then please call us on 020 8531 9990.
